Thank You Thursday- Rosemary from Nigeria

Aspect Foundation’s inbox is flooded with notes from students expressing their gratitude for the experience they’ve had on student exchange. Today, Rosemary from Nigeria studying with the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program sponsored by the US Department of State would like to convey gratitude toward her host family in Washington.

“My host family is the most wonderful thing that has happened to me. They accepted me to their family through the help of my host sister when I was looking for a new host family. When I came in, yes I felt a little awkward at first; they welcomed me as part of the family, and this phrase was used, “hey Rose you are one of us now”. I love them so much. They are crazy, funny, sweet, loving, jolly and wonderful family. My host sisters are wonderful, I don’t have a sister or stayed with one in my home country but they showed me how fun it is, even though we might have sister issues as we call it, it does not stop us from doing things together. Now I have a second family and l Love them for welcoming me into their home and making this exchange Year of mine a fun-filled and memorable one. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”
