Thank You Thursday- Cholponai from Kyrgyzstan

More thank you notes continue to come in from students expressing their gratitude for the experience they’ve had during their exchange year. On Thursdays, we post one of these notes, sharing the “warm fuzzies” with all of you.

For today’s #ThankYouThursday, Our former student Cholponai from Kyrgyzstan would like to say thank you to her host family in Wisconsin for giving her an experience of a lifetime. Her sweet words remind us all how meaningful cultural exchange can be for these students and the HUGE role that our generous host families play in that impact.

“I am so lucky to have such an amazing American dad in my life. You made my experience in America an absolutely wonderful one. Thank you, Dad, for sharing your knowledge and reality with me! You taught me so many things. You helped me understand what is life about and I really appreciate all the time we spend together watching movies (pretty little liars, princess diaries) or talking about the world and how to improve it.

I will never forget dad and daughter days like having huge burgers, singing karaoke all ABBA songs, shopping clothes and jewelry, snow days without school but with fun  (you know), Las Vegas, all your plans with the map and many other memories. Even though we are separated by oceans, you will always be in my heart! I miss you, and I miss your hugs, all good mornings and good nights. ” – Cholponai
