There is no better time than the month of giving thanks to share our first thank you letter from one of our 2023-24 students! Lucia from Spain has always dreamt of becoming an exchange student in America, and thanks to her incredible American host family, dedicated International Coordinator, and supportive community, her lifelong dream has finally come true. As Lucia bonds with her host family, has fun on the varsity soccer team, and attends her first homecoming dance, she is embracing every opportunity to make the most of her unforgettable year in America.

First of all, I wanted to thank my family for giving me the opportunity to study abroad. In my case, I was 10 years old when I convinced myself that I wanted to do a year of exchange when I was old enough to go. This year, the time came when my dream came true. Honestly, when they gave me a host family, I couldn’t believe that my dream was coming true. I arrived in the United States and at first, it was a little complicated with the issue of English and the change of schedule, but you end up getting used to it. I signed up for the high school soccer team, where I played varsity and made new friends.

Regarding school, I have made very good friends and they always treat me very well.

Speaking of my host family, thank you for welcoming me and being able to make my dream come true. Having their support every day makes me feel at home.

With all this, I wanted to thank my host family, my friends, my soccer coaches, and all the people around me who are supporting me, so that my experience is the best and the simplest.

Also thank you very much to Aspect for giving me the opportunity to meet other exchange students. Thank you very much to everyone, you will always be my second family.
