Thank You Thursday – Mandy and Patricia

For this week’s Thank You Thursday, we continue to share the heartfelt thank you notes from our 2023/24 Aspect students as they convey their appreciation to their American host families for welcoming them to their homes and hearts. Mandy from the Netherlands expresses her gratitude for her unforgettable year, while Patricia from Moldova, who is part of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program sponsored by the Department of State, reflects and thanks those who made her dreams possible.

A Grateful Heart to My Host Family,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my amazing host family. Their warm welcome and support have turned a foreign place into a second home. From shared meals to the most amazing trips, they’ve made every day special. Their kindness has not only provided me with a place to stay but has given me a family in a new land. I’m grateful for the cultural exchange and the life-enriching experiences that we share. Thank you, dear host family, for making my time here unforgettable. Your kindness will always be in my heart.

I’m really thankful for the people that I met so far in this year, because they made me think about who I want to be in life. I’ve reflected a lot on my personality with the help of my host family and siblings. They taught me useful things and I’m thankful that we can communicate freely. Since the day I came here, I always had people who were willing to help me and reach my goals. My International Coordinator, Brittani, has helped me tremendously by searching for volunteering opportunities for me and I’m grateful that she can spend some of her time for the greater good. I’ve enjoyed every moment of this year, because I was always surrounded by amazing people.
