For this week’s Thank You Thursday, we are sharing a wonderful letter written by Rajeshwari from India, who is spending her 2024/25 school year in Washington State, with the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program sponsored by the US Department of State! Rajeshwari shares her culture with her host family while learning about theirs. She thanks her host parents and International Coordinator for their kindness and support. With their encouragement, she embraces every new opportunity with confidence!

I am incredibly thankful for my host family, who have welcomed me into their home with open arms and hearts. They have provided me with not just a place to stay but also a sense of belonging in a new country. Their kindness, patience, and support have made my exchange experience unforgettable. From sharing meals and traditions to celebrating special moments together, they’ve shown me what it means to be part of a loving family.

I’ve learned so much from them, and their generosity and warmth have truly made me feel at home away from home. I am deeply thankful for my International Coordinator, Jodi, who has been a guiding light throughout my exchange journey. Her constant support, encouragement, and dedication has made a significant difference in my experience.

Whether it’s checking in to ensure everything is going smoothly, offering advice, or helping me navigate challenges, my host family has always been there for me. Their passion for fostering cultural exchange and their belief in my potential have inspired me to embrace every opportunity with confidence. I’m truly grateful for their hard work and for being such an integral part of my journey.
