Mother’s Day has just passed, and Isaure from Belgium, who is spending her 2024–25 school year in Texas, wanted to share something truly special. She wrote the sweetest thank-you letter to her host mom, reflecting on the love, support, and unforgettable memories they’ve created together!

Dear Sharon,
Today is Mother’s Day, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Since I arrived here, you’ve been more than just a host family; you’ve welcomed me like your own child. Your warm welcome, your generosity, your humor, and all the little everyday gestures have made this experience unforgettable.
So, thank you for making me feel at home, even far from my family. Thank you for the meals you prepared almost every night. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play basketball; thanks to that, we won the state championship, which also makes you a part of that victory. Thank you for the discussions, which allowed me to improve my English, and thank you for the laughs. You are a kind, friendly person, always there when needed, and I am truly lucky to have met you this year.

On this special day, I wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day. You deserve all the love and appreciation in the world, because you are truly an exceptional person.
Thank you again for everything,
Isaure
