Thank You Thursday – Giorgia from Italy

For this week’s Thank you Thursday, we are sharing a sweet letter written by Giorgia from Italy, who spent her 2022/23 year in Kirkland, Washington. Giorgia adds, “I am so happy I decided to do this. It was the best decision I have ever made. I tried to live it in the best way possible, and I will keep all these moments and memories in my heart forever. It has helped me a lot!”

I just wanted to thank you all so much for making my dream come true. This wouldn’t have been possible without you!

I want to say thank you to my host family because they have been a big part of my experience. I will forever be grateful and thankful for the moments we spent together and all the amazing memories I’m carrying back to my home country. Thank you for making me feel part of the family and not just a guest. They will be in my heart for the rest of my life and I’ll never stop saying thank you to them for giving me the opportunity of living this experience. I’m going to miss you… a lot!

I loved being part of school here. It gave me the opportunity to live what I had always been curious to experience, the American school system. It was so fun to see how different it is from the Italian one. It wasn’t just that, but everything put together. I will always be grateful to my host family, my friends, and all the people that supported me even from far away. They never made me feel sad or alone.
