Thank You Thursday – Aleeya, Elisa, Anna

It’s our favorite day of the week – Thank You Thursday is here! Today, we have the pleasure of hearing from three wonderful Aspect students who are spending their 2023/24 school year in Utah. Aleeya from the Philippines with the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program sponsored by the US Department of State, Elisa from Italy, and Anna from Latvia with the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program sponsored by the Department of State express their deep appreciation and gratitude, as they reflect on the love and kindness they have received from their American host families.

I would like to extend my greatest gratitude to my host family. They have shown me the beauty of being a part of an American family and have taught me many lessons that I will surely cherish for the rest of my life. I appreciate how they introduced me to their culture and took me to fun activities and spots. They are surely the core reason why I love my exchange year. To my host family, thank you for being my home away from home.

I actually think that I’m very lucky to have ended up here in Utah. Life here is very relaxing and I love that. I am so grateful that my host family chose me and for always giving me new experiences. I also love my exchange friends from the exchanges activity and my American school, because every day I feel like I’m living in a movie. I hope this movie never ends.
