Thank You Thursday – Marie, Oscar, Manuela

February is a time for sharing love and appreciation, and what better way to do that than with Thank You Thursday? Today, we’re hearing from three wonderful Aspect students—Marie from Norway, Oscar from Germany, and Manuela from Italy—who are spending their 2024-25 school year with their fantastic host families. As they reflect on the love, kindness, and unforgettable memories they’ve shared so far, they remind us how special the exchange experience truly is!

I am really thankful for this school year. I would like to thank my host family who makes me laugh and with whom I have created lots of good memories, really thankful for my host family for having taken me into their family. Also thankful for all my friends that I have made at my high school, for those who drove me around and hung out with me after school. Those are the people with whom I made lots of good memories. Thank you to all that I have met this year! You have made this one-time experience amazing, making me want to spend more of my life here.

I want to say thank you to all the people I have met so far here in America, starting with my wonderful host family that made me feel at home since the first day I arrived here. I couldn’t wish for a better host family. I’m so grateful to be here and to spend 10 beautiful and joyful months with them. I’m so glad to have chosen to do this experience. I think it is one of the best choices I have made in my entire life! I also want to thank my teachers and my friends that I have made here for all the help and support they have given me, along with their love and presence. A really big thank you also to my parents who gave me this opportunity! I will carry all the memories and experiences I am making and experiencing with me forever in my heart. THANK YOU!!!
