Student Spotlight: Anastasiia M. from Ukraine

Today’s Student Spotlight features a lovely student from the Ukraine located in Alvarado, TX staying with the Atkins family, nominated by our area field manager, Sherri. Anastasiia M. is studying here on a Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) scholarship program sponsored by the US Department of State.

Here are some sweet words from host mom, Penny:

Anastasiia is polite and sweet. She asks if she can help and will gladly take on any task she is requested to do (other than being ready on time). She is smart and making good grades. [She] can cook a delicious Borscht and does amazing embroidery work, by HAND!!!!  It’s been an adjustment for Faran to learn to be an annoying little sister, but she’s been a fast learner! LOL! Anastasiia has worked hard on volunteer hours.  She is very close to 100 hours.  She has volunteered at football games and FCCLA (a volunteer club at school). She’s also helped at 4-H and she has read stories to children at the daycare I work at.
